A kind passerby found a cat walking down the road and could not leave her. They ended up rescuing her six kittens as well.

About two months ago, a Good Samaritan saw a cat walking along the main road. They noticed her head tilted and her heavily pregnant belly on her emaciated body.
Despite being malnourished and unsteady on her feet, the cat was incredibly friendly and grateful to be found. She was taken to the vet and urgently needed a foster home as she was due to give birth soon.
When volunteers at Best Friends Felines learned of her plight, they pooled their efforts to save her.

A volunteer drove for hours to transport the deserving cat to her foster home. “She’s been named Kiffin and has got a village surrounding her with love,” best friends told Felines.
Her foster family prepared a comfortable area with nutritious food, plenty of clean water, and several litter boxes. Pleased with her new surroundings, she snuggled up next to her foster mother, as if to thank her for taking her in.

They described her fur as “coarse and rough” and began feeding her high-quality kitten food to get her back to good health.
“After all, Kiffin is incredibly cute. She has the cleanest purr and the meanest yet squeaky meow. She won’t stop purring and her little paws are always ‘making crackers’.” How she hasn’t been anyone’s best friend her whole life, we’ll never understand.”

As she gained weight and strength, her fur became fuller and shinier. She felt stronger on her feet and was ready to welcome her kittens into the world.
Kiffin gave birth to a healthy litter of six in her loving foster home. She immediately took on her motherly duties and purred contentedly. The first week was exhausting as she kept feeding and cleaning her demanding kittens.

“We were with her to give her a hand, make sure the kittens were kept clean and rotate them through their feedings to make sure the smaller kittens didn’t miss out,” foster mum Stacey said. “After a few days, we could see that she was getting things under control and getting her strength back.”
The kittens made impressive weight gains and they started opening their eyes early, indicating that they were slightly delayed.

Kiffin was comfortable around his people and loved every moment with them. She watched as her foster mother weighed her kittens and showered them with gentle hugs.
“We love Kiffin so much and have made it our mission to make sure she gets the most loving home.”

The six kittens (five boys and one girl) grew by leaps and bounds. Eyes open, they were eager to explore, even as they were still finding their footing.
“They are already actively seeking belly rubs and tickles. While feeding six babies, their beautiful mother has managed to regrow a lot of her missing fur and gain some weight. Her once very noticeable head tilt has improved dramatically.”

“She has adjusted to her new indoor life with gratitude and grace and continues to awe us with her ever so loving personality.”
For the first time, Kiffin showed interest in toys and played with his foster mother. “At first she didn’t know what I was doing, almost confused as to why I was shaking things off her, then it clicked. She liked chasing her little wand. Chasing and catching a toy mouse gave her so much joy.”

The kittens rush over to their foster mother every time she enters the room, excited to start their daily routine.
“After Kiffin has had her breakfast, she likes to sit on my lap. When I’m done with each kitten (with a health check and a weigh-in), she’ll feed them on my lap until they’re all done. It’s such a tender moment where I feel she is so happy to have someone working with her to protect the babies.”

The kittens have blossomed into plump, playful, carefree young cats, with some beginning to show their seal marks. Their mother revels in their company and playfully antics where her inner kitten emerges.
