Cruelty. Participate in the sterilization of cats for the well-being of all

the essential
The Graulhétoise Animal Welfare Association is completely overwhelmed by the significant spread of stray cats. She works to sterilize them and offers them care and protection.

The members of the Graulhétoise Animal Protection Association (AGSA) are very active, as is Fabienne Allaire, a volunteer who continues to capture cats, have them sterilized and identified at the Gaillac veterinary clinic. She then brings them home to monitor their recovery and then releases them at the same prison. “All this is legal and the people who threaten us by saying we don’t have the right to feed cats on the street are wrong,” she adds. It refers to Articles L.214-1 to 23 and L.211-1 to 32 of Chapter IV on the protection of animals in the Act on Rural and Sea Fisheries.

Looking for donations

“In 1999 we had about fifty cats sterilized a year thanks to Dr. Pontier de Lavaur, today, despite the tripartite agreement between the town hall, the 30 Millions d’amis association and AGSA, we have a quota of 35 sterilizations that must not be exceeded per year, states Colette Aliev. This is insufficient and we are considering signing another agreement with the Brigitte Bardot Foundation. Sterilization and microchipping costs €120 for a male.

Every day, Colette prepares a bowl of healthy food for the city’s cats. Travel is also his responsibility.

“Today, in particular, we need donations, pleaded the members. We cannot forever compensate for the negligence of owners who misbehave with their pets.”

If you witness criminal acts, a national SOS animal cruelty hotline (3677) has been set up.

Committed high school students

“Recently, Fabienne went to the high school in Clément de Pémille, at the request of the students, to raise awareness about animal cruelty. After this intervention, they went to collect pills from the traders, we thank them for that,” says Colette.

All people who are sensitive to animal rights can make a gesture. Help and donate to AGSA. Donations to this association are tax-deductible, and you can also bring food to the premises.
