This is Isabella’s story. She was kept chained outside on a short leash, with no food or water provided by her owner. Her neighbors, devastated by her condition, secretly brought her leftovers and water to keep her alive. Isabella’s only value to her owner was as a breeding dog, forced to produce litter after litter to generate income. She had never known what it felt like to be loved or truly cared for.
The neighbors did their best, but their efforts weren’t enough to give her the life she deserved. Fortunately, a compassionate neighbor decided to act. They contacted a rescue group and asked for help to save Isabella and give her the chance for a better life.
Isabella’s story is one of resilience and hope, and a reminder of the life-changing difference that kindness and action can make.
Rescuers from The Happy Doggo quickly sprang into action when they heard about Isabella’s dire situation. When they arrived at the scene, they were devastated by what they saw. Isabella’s chain was so short that she could barely move, leaving her trapped and in constant discomfort. The painful marks on her body told the story of years tethered without relief.
The rescuers were determined to make a difference. They listened as the neighbors recounted Isabella’s tragic life—how she had spent every moment on that chain, enduring neglect and loneliness. It was clear that she had never experienced the freedom to run, play or even rest comfortably. For the rescuers, leaving Isabella in such a state was not an option. Her suffering had lasted far too long and they were ready to fight for her chance at a better life.
Despite all that Isabella had endured, her spirit remained unbroken. She greeted her rescuers with a wagging tail and a bright, hopeful smile, as if she knew they were there to help. Her happy demeanor only strengthened the rescuers’ determination to give her the life she truly deserved.
The team from The Happy Doggo wanted nothing more than to take Isabella with them immediately. However, they could not do that without her owner’s consent. Realizing the complexity of the situation, they reached out to local authorities and partnered with other rescue groups for support. Negotiations with the owner began, but it soon became clear that it would not be easy to convince him to surrender Isabella.
Despite the challenges, the team remained steadfast. They knew this was a fight worth pursuing—Isabella’s future depended on their endurance.

Shockingly, this is not the first time she has been accused of animal cruelty; she has a previous conviction for similar crimes. We must ensure that no more animals suffer or die in her care!
After a lengthy process, he finally agreed to let her go. The rescuers brought her to a nursing home where she could begin her recovery. Under their care, she underwent an amazing transformation. It was clear from the start that she was a very social dog, and it became more and more obvious as she settled in.

This is her story of freedom and her new life… ⛓️ Beautiful Isabella has been chained since she was three months old, made to have puppies herself in just one year. ❌ We can’t go into too much detail, but because she was on private property, we couldn’t just take her. She had only managed to survive because friendly locals had snuck her food and water. The conditions she lived in were appalling and local authorities had to get involved to get her free. You can see how happy she was to have her freedom. Now she is with us in Happy Doggo land and the rest of her life starts here. Her puppies have also found homes where they will be loved and cared for. Lovely Isabella never has to go back to that place again. Isabella wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for the help of a friendly local feeder and concerned locals. They were able to bring in food and water at regular intervals to keep them alive. They were also able to take the puppies away and find homes for them. Getting Isabella released herself was not easy and required a lot of negotiations and help in the background, where both Samui Street Dogs and Bern from @soidogfoundationofficial were crucial.
