that census is an operation that aims to collect a set of data from the census of the population according to precise criteria and to exploit them statistically to know the characteristics of the population of a municipality.
1,767 housing units
In municipalities with less than 10,000 inhabitants, it is carried out every five years, but the last one goes back to 2017 at Etrepagny (Euros).
To carry out this new census campaign, the municipality has recruited seven agents.
For almost a month, 19 January to 18 February 2023, Christine Jordan, Marie-Agnes Herve, Catherine Barbier, Fabienne Langler, Christine Leroux, Daniel Koleno and Jacques Lambertwill go through town to distribute the questionnaires and collect the items.
They will be bound by confidentiality and will be provided with an official card with their photo to present. They share 1,767 homes divided into districts. Each district includes between 200 and 300 homes.
Online or paper questionnaire
Responding online is the easiest way to register. The counters will go to the people to be counted to give them a message showing their login details to the site.
They can thus answer the online questionnaire. If people can’t answer online, the enumerators hand out the paper questionnaires, a residential slip and as many individual ballots as there are residents, then make an appointment to pick them up.
The grants depend on the number of inhabitants
The census is of great importance to the municipalities, because the state’s contribution to the municipalities’ budget is derived from these figures.
The more a municipality is populated, the more the grants are important. Accurate knowledge of the distribution of the population in the territory makes it possible to adapt public efforts to the needs of the population.
