This Friday, October 18, 2024, has a special flavor for Martine and Serge. They just dropped off Nala for eight days. This is their 10-year-old cat. “The cat shelter where we dropped her off in Le Mans spoke positively to us about Mustache and Ronron,” they explain. Open since February 2019, the establishment welcomes indoor and outdoor animals at 8, rue du 62e Régiment d’Infanterie, in Lorient. After a move two years ago, the residents now enjoy an area of 220 m2, a space three times larger than before. The 27 individual rooms are spread over two floors and replace a former accounting office.
Up to 27 cats present
In order to provide quality service to its customers, the owner of the premises is supported by an employee and two professional matriculates. “We only work with qualified personnel,” explains Karine Kavaternik, manager of the company. “All cats are welcome, from the most timid to the most sociable,” she continues. The door to Mustache et Ronron is also open to felines that require medical treatment, such as those with diabetes for example. Flea treatments and worming are also offered. Health advice and medical monitoring are provided free of charge.
In addition, customers receive messages from the Mustache and Ronron teams for updates on their cat. This service included in the service is appreciated. “On the first day, people are worried,” explains Karine Kavaternik. She reminds us that the cat is a territorial animal, but can quickly acclimatize to a new place, provided it is comfortable. “The tension can drop very quickly,” she explains.
“Cats look for stimuli. We give them that through the games we make available to them during the day,” says the woman, who is trained as a veterinary assistant. She assures us: “we attach great importance to their well-being. If a cat does not want to be in the company of its peers, we keep it alone in its room,” unlike some boarding houses. The staff is available from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., the company’s activity is mainly concentrated in seasonal periods , during the summer holidays.
