On the pictures, three skeleton dogs, with protruding ribs, one of which had a large wound on its body, the result of an untreated tumor. But in the social housing development in Pont-Audemer (Eure) on Thursday 20 June 2024, there was also the smell.

Complaint for serious assaults and atrocities
The vet to whom the three dogs were taken described them as acute in one » very advanced state of cachexia (protruding bones and ribs) « , with “friction ulcers” or even “generalized amyotrophy” (reduction in muscle volume caused by prolonged immobilization). They have been ever since cared for by a crisis centre.

“We would have arrived a week later, the dogs would have died”, the investigator estimates. The police launched an investigation. The association 30 million friends filed a complaint for serious abuse and cruel treatment, voluntary abandonment and deprivation of food and water against the detainee.

The association Les Félins Rislois also filed a complaint. Three cats were also found, two in good condition and one with kidney failure, “in a state of emaciation and advanced dehydration” according to the vet who examined him.

Discovery during a deportation

We were able to take the animals out because the owner was evicted, she hadn’t paid her rent for nine months.

Faced with this long delay without being able to intervene, the 30 Million Friends investigator is urging all people who witness animal abuse to contact the association.
