Joe Biden’s health ‘has improved’ since testing positive

The state of health of US President Joe Biden has improved since his positive Covid test on Thursday, his personal doctor announced on Friday in a letter released by the White House. “His symptoms have improved,” wrote doctor Kevin O’Connor, adding that the 79-year-old leader had a very small fever, at 37.4°, Thursday evening.

Joe Biden continues to experience fatigue, a runny nose and an occasional cough, the doctor said. He received a full vaccination against Covid-19, with two booster doses, recalled Dr. O’Connor, specifying that he therefore expected the president to “respond favorably” to his viral infection.

“The president is supporting the treatment well,” he added, referring to paxlovid, the Pfizer anti-Covid pill he prescribed for Joe Biden. Still according to Dr. O’Connor, the Democrat, who works in isolation at the White House, is also given paracetamol and resorts if necessary to an inhaler diffusing a bronchodilator drug.
