A cat came as a mouse. After almost two decades, he is still a kitten at heart and has found his dream place.

About 18 years ago, Midnight the cat encountered a kind woman who was feeding and looking after the local cats near her building.
Friendly and appreciative, he quickly won the woman over and was taken in as a mouser. They stayed together until the woman retired and moved to another state to live with her family. Unfortunately, they couldn’t bring midnight.
When Fior, a care volunteer at Little Wanderers NYC, learned of the house panther’s plight, she welcomed him into her home.

Midnight quickly settled into his new quiet home, his gentle and peaceful nature shining through. He shadowed his foster family from room to room, always ready for pets and attention.
Even in his old age, with various health issues, Midnight did not slow down, especially when it came to game time.

The moment he saw his favorite toy, his youthful energy ignited and he was ready to pounce. Always a kitten at heart, Midnight never tired of chasing toys and doing what came naturally to him as a muse.
Fior ensured that he remained in good shape, ready for his next adventure. Midnight was not happy to be alone and longed for a home where he could spend his twilight years being loved and cared for.

When a veterinary technician dropped in past midnight, she was struck by his gentle gaze and sweet temperament. When she understood his needs, she was determined to give him a wonderful rest of his life.
At long last, his dream came true last month. “He will continue to be loved just as he deserves,” Little Wanderers told NYC.
Midnight loves his Winnie the Pooh bed@yeoldemidnight
Midnight moved into her forever home and quickly claimed her favorite spot: a cozy nook in the honey pot of Winnie the Pooh.
As well as being a skilled mouser, he is an expert feline “loafer”, keeping his front paws neatly tucked away while sitting. He follows his forever family everywhere, attracted by soft blankets and the warmth of the sun’s rays.

Now, every morning, Midnight emerges from his comfortable bed, stretches as wide as he can, and makes a beeline for his human for pets and kisses. After his morning nap, he retreats contentedly for another nap.
He loves to relax in the sunlight with his people and listen to TV. But the moment a wand toy appears, he leaps into action and darts for it with impressive kitten-like speed.

He jumps up on the bed to be near his mother, offering soft purrs and gentle cuddles while silently pleading for affection. Nothing brings him more joy than being with his family.
“Look at those incredible eyes, you just want to give him a big hug and kiss,” the vet said.

These days, Midnight spends plenty of time snoozing, often accompanied by her new cat friend. He will never be alone again now that he has a sister, Miss Tabby, to keep him company.
The two share the large bed, bask in the warm rays and cherish their beautiful bond.

At 18, Midnight still has the soul of a kitten, enjoying quiet moments in the sun and occasionally bursting with playful energy.
With constant companions to share his golden years with, he couldn’t be happier to have found a place to call his own.
