Man takes in kittens from a lot and notices how one always leans on the other when they change in front of him

A man received two kittens from a batch and noticed how one always leaned on the other as they changed before him.

Rescuers at the Alley Cat Project responded to a call to rescue cats and kittens living amid vehicles and sharp objects in a lot.

Among the rescued, two ginger kittens clung to each other for comfort. Josh Norem, a volunteer, stepped forward to care for the pair. He decorated a quiet place with cozy nooks and lots of goodies to help them feel at home.

The first night indoors, the kittens were scared and retreated to a corner. One was particularly timid, and cowered behind his brother for dear life.

Twinkle Toes, the kitten with white boots, was the shyer of the two. He leaned on his brother, the Purr Monster, for support as they tried to make sense of their new world.

On day two, Purr Monster began to come out of his shell, drawn by the promise of food and soothed by Josh’s gentle affection. He was closer to his foster father while Twinkle Toes used him as a shield.

All the hissing, spitting and pinned back ears were just a facade. As Twinkle Toes got the taste of treats and experienced the comfort of a warm lap, his demeanor softened and his purring engine began to rumble.

“He took about two days to stop hissing and let me pet him. It took about a week for him to calm down,” Josh shared with Love Meow.

True to his name, Purr Monster’s engine roared to life when he felt comfortable and he became the cutest snuggle.

When he became a full-fledged lap cat, his brother followed suit. Twinkle Toes relaxed and curled up around Josh, hugging chinstraps with her brother.

Before long they were purring loudly in unison, snuggled side by side on their foster father’s lap. “These two are the very definition of love failure.”

“Purr Monster is the friendliest and most loving kitty you will ever meet.”

“He will purr just by looking at you, will follow you around all day and loves to climb into your lap and purr the day away.”

As soon as Josh sits down with his laptop, Purr Monster jumps onto his lap, ready to dispense feline wisdom. “He’s just so unique, kind and loving.”

“Twinkle Toes is a bit shyer than his brother so he leans on him for support. He’s really come out of his shell in foster care and will start purring within a second or two of being touched. It’s a really cute high-pitched chirp at times.

“He’s a good balance to his brother as he’s not quite as affectionate at first but will climb into your lap and start his loud purring engine when he feels comfortable with you.”

The ginger boys are two peas in a pod, always facing each other. They do everything as a duo and even clean each other in perfect sync.

“Together they make a great pair of very friendly, well-adjusted kitties.”

Twinkle Toes has come a long way since his days of being wheezing and scared. Now he enjoys the company of his people and often relaxes near the family dog, enjoying the quiet moments before the chaos of playtime.

They are bundles of energy that zoom around the house, jump, climb and create all sorts of antics.

Given a second chance, this bonded couple blossoms as pampered house cats. Twinkle Toes continues to lean on her brother as they embark on their next chapter together.
