A small medical transport aircraft carrying a child, her mother and four other people, went down to Philadelphia on Friday in a fiery crash near a busy shopping center.
Learjet 55 crashed near Roosevelt Mall in northeastern Philadelphia around 10 pm. 18:30 after departing from northeastern Philadelphia Airport, according to authorities.
There is no official word yet about the number of injuries or deaths.
When he spoke at a news conference on Friday night, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker said that officials could not yet give a number of fatalities. “Right now we are just asking for prayers,” she told journalists.
Several homes and vehicles were influenced by the crash, said the mayor, who urged residents to stay away from the stage.

In a statement, Shriner’s Hospital said the child had received care from Philadelphia Hospital and was brought back to his homeland Mexico with his mother on a contracted air ambulance when the crash happened.
The company that operated the flight, Jet Rescue Air ambulance, said in a statement that there were four crew members on board.
“At this point, we can’t confirm any survivors,” the company said in the statement. “No names are released at this time until family members have been notified. Our immediate concern is to the patient’s family, our staff, their families and other victims who may have been injured on earth.”
The Air Ambulance was on its way to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, according to Flight Radar24 data
A large fire burned in the wake of the crash, which received a considerable response.
“We heard a high explosion and then the demand for flames and smoke,” eyewitness Jimmy Weiss told the local ABC station WPVI near the stage.
He added, “It felt like the earth is shaking .. It was a tall boom. It was surprising.”
National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
An NTSB investigator arrived on the stage on Friday night with additional team members who are expected to arrive on Saturday.

Temple University Hospital told ABC News that it had received six patients injured in the crash, though it wasn’t clear whether they were in the plane or people on the ground.
Three of these patients were treated and released, and three remain hospitalized in reasonable condition, the hospital said.

When he spoke at a follow-up press briefing on Friday night, Pennsylvania government said Josh Shapiro that dozens of state troops and other state staff were on hand to offer help and praised local responders and members of the community.
“We saw neighbor help the neighbor. We saw Pennsylvanians looking at each other, ”he said.
