2 stray dogs, one female Maltese and a male husky, were found in a lane reserved for high occupancy vehicles. Police officers were quickly dispatched to the scene, to block traffic and come to their aid as quickly as possible.
It was no small feat…
But the rescue was not that easy! The dogs were probably frightened by this environment, and one of the 2 particularly gave them a hard time! the husky was quick to jump into the police vehicle, but for the bichonthat was another story…
It took no less than 45 long minutes to convince the bichon to join the husky in the car. We had just escaped the worst. After all this emotion, the officers were finally able to take the 2 dogs to the local animal shelter, the BARC Houston Animal Shelter.
Healthy but unidentified dogs

The 2 inseparable animals were visibly tired from their journey, but apart from that, they were doing very well. The members of the shelter could not identify them because they were not microchipped. An opportunity for Cory Stottlemyerone of the volunteers, to remind people how essential it is to chip their pets…
If the owners of the 2 dogs do not come forward, they will be offered for adoption. Let’s hope they find a loving home as soon as possible, and that they put this story behind them.
