Recently, a video of the SLPA of Velaine-en-Haye, now withdrawn, showed a dogon a balcony, his head in a bag of croquettes.
L’ animal was seized rue de la Meuse, in Laxou, following a joint intervention by the police and the pound, on June 7, around 9 p.m., by order of the Nancy prosecutor’s office.
A dog spotted more than two years ago by the services of the SLPA
The SLPA of Velaine-en-Haye had filed a complaint, in 2020, with the police, after the report by a third party of this apparently neglected animal. This complaint had been closed without follow-up.
The association subsequently seized the magistrate of Nancy.
It was in view of these circumstances and because of the owner’s lack of response that the intervention of the fire brigade, the police and the pound took place. “We intervened with the firefighters because the person was not answering the phone, so we had a suspicion of death of this one in his apartment”, explains a police source. “The animal was seized by the pound”.
An ongoing investigation
Absent from his apartment at the time of the seizure, the owner has “now returned to his accommodation” according to a police source. He is under a investigation for abandonment.
“Tommy”, the dog, awaits the court’s decision.
