This Tuesday, October 4, on the occasion of National Animal Day, a groomer from Saint-André is offering a grooming session to the dogs at the Sainte-Marie SPA shelter. This action aims to raise awareness among the general public and encourage them to take care of animals.
The dogs of the Sainte-Marie SPA were treated to a beauty treatment of one hour each, in a grooming salon in Saint-André, this Tuesday, as part of national animal day. This celebration is also an opportunity for animal associations to open their doors for possible adoptions and to raise awareness about the scourge of animal wandering in Reunion.
“It allows us to pamper our dogs. The most important thing in Reunion is to make residents aware of the importance of identifying and sterilizing your animal so that there are as few stray animals as possible.“, says Samuel Gaudrou, healer at the SPA.
Indeed, in 2020, in Reunion, 150,000 official animal abandonments have been identified. More 10,000 were euthanized.
