Two dogs were rescued by police this Sunday, August 14, 2022, when they were locked in a car parked in direct sunlight. The facts took place in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
The outcome could have been dramatic. Two dogs were rescued by police in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais. The two animals had been seen this Sunday August 14 around noon locked in a car, parked in full sun. This Sunday, temperatures rose to 31 degrees in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
It was traders who gave the alert, report our colleagues from BFMTV. To help the two canines, the police and the Opale Capture association, which helps animals in distress, had to break one of the windows of the vehicle.
Both dogs safe and sound
The two animals emerged safe and sound from the vehicle, before being taken care of by the Saint-Martin-Boulogne pound. Following this intervention, the Opale Capture association will file a complaint against the owners of the animals, who will also be fined. They will also have to pay pound fees.
As a reminder, leaving an animal locked in a vehicle is strictly prohibited: it is animal abuse. “The person who voluntarily, without necessity, publicly or not, inflicts ill-treatment on an animal, also incurs a fine of 750 euros”, according to the Ministry of the Interior.
