In 2020, an entrepreneur, Abi-Nader Chukri, buys 11 businesses in this Perpignan street to create a gourmet artery project. Each sign had to correspond to a culinary specialty. The idea was for customers to be able to sit down anywhere in the street, order what they want from different addresses and pay for their total consumption on a single bill. The project provided for 320 seats outside and 250 inside the establishments.
But this plan has been on hold for many months. Four buildings, which were to accommodate 70% of the gourmet artery, were the subject of an order of imminent danger. Major security work, very costly, must be carried out there.
