This Saturday evening the Van der Valk hotel in Verviers was in an uproar. Not because of the municipal elections that took place on Sunday, but rather thanks to the evening with the awarding of assistance dogs trained by the Os’Mose association, which was held in it. A big ceremony where nine dogs (mostly golden retrievers and labradors, but also two jumpers) officially received their service dog harnesses. Each of them also made the symbolic transition from their host family, who, with the help of the association’s volunteers, have trained them in recent months, to the person they now have to assist on a daily basis. And for whom he will become much more than a simple pet: he will be his partner, who will allow him to relegate his handicap situation to the background.
