The Executive Director of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), Mohamed Kraïem, indicated that 6,685 loan applications were submitted by the fund’s affiliates. This figure includes requests for personal loans and car purchases.
Speaking on May 22, 2024 during “Sbeh El Ward” by Hatem Ben Amara on Jawhara Fm, Mohamed Kraïem confirmed that two commissions were deployed to process loan requests. According to the figures presented, the CNSS granted a total of 2,950 personal loans and fifteen car purchase loans were accepted. According to the same source, personal loans are worth more than 26 million dinars, while loans for the purchase of a car correspond to 570 thousand dinars. The loans granted by the CNSS thus represent 2,965 operations for more than 26 million dinars.
” The first meeting took place on April 18, 2024… The number of applications submitted on this date was equal to 1,094… 887 applications for personal loans were accepted… 822 personal loans were granted and 65 loans were purchased from banks “, he said.
Mohamed Kraïem specified that the total sum of personal loans granted was about nine million dinars. Regarding car purchase loans, seven of the nine applications submitted had been accepted by that date for a total value of 315 thousand dinars.
” Another meeting of the commission took place on May 9, 2024… We processed 2,127 new personal loan applications… 2,063 applications were validated… These were 1,882 direct loans and 181 credit repayments… The total amount increased to 18 million dinars … Regarding the loan for the purchase of a car, we received ten requests… Eight were accepted for a total value of 255 million dinars “, he added.
Regarding the rejected requests, Mohamed Kraïem indicated that in most cases it was a matter of exceeding the monthly debit limit. According to the law, the total deduction may not exceed 40% of the gross salary. He also mentioned the irregularity of the employer’s situation with the CNSS. “ The fund cannot accept the loan request… Our guarantee is the employer’s situation… There are also some employers’ refusal to guarantee the loan “, He continued.
Speaking about the situation of pensioners, Mohamed Kraïem insisted on the importance of the state’s social role. He raised the possibility of increasing old-age pensions. This would be possible through an increase in the minimum wage. Regarding the retirement age, the executive director of the CNSS explained that the person concerned must have the employer’s consent to postpone this by two years. Subsequently, he has the option of postponing retirement for three years, provided that he obtains permission from the employer each year.
Mohamed Kraïem stated that the upward adjustment of the loan ceiling for the acquisition of a house, the authorization for pensioners to take out loans and the revision of the old-age pensions were under discussion.
