Olie is a charming little 17 kilo Griffon cross who really hasn’t had a rosy life. Although this dog born in March 2021 looks relaxed in the photos, she has come a long way.
Captured from a shelter on Reunion Island that mistreated dogs, she had to learn to survive in disastrous conditions, amid filth, disease and hunger.
She was released in May 2022 from this terrible shelter called “Noah’s Ark” when all the animals were seized, and joined a municipal pound by court order due to her lack of a place in a foster family. After another two years in the kennel, Olie was finally able to return to mainland France in March 2024 thanks to a temporary family. Today, the little dog is waiting to find her forever home.
She is recovering from her chaotic start to life
Still very young, Olie is very happy to discover this new life, of which she did not even suspect the existence. Marked by those years in the cage, she had to be cut off completely because she had a layer of matted hair that gave off a sickening smell. His skin was covered in scabs and spots, which thankfully disappeared thanks to the care of his host family. Today, Olie’s fur is growing back healthy and shiny, and she is ready to attract potential adopters!
She is currently recovering from a torn cruciate ligament in her right hind leg and has yet to recover from her surgery.
Very playful and dynamic, Olie wants to make up for lost time and for her everything is an excuse to play! She will delight a family in attendance who wants to have fun with her escapades, especially since this little Griffon shows a desire for permanent closeness with her humans. Very cute, she never gets tired of petting and will need to find a very loving home that really plans to include her in all activities and spend a lot of time with her.
Although she has never learned the dog codes, she trains every day in her temporary foster family and is making significant progress. She gets on really well with her peers, who she wants to play with, and she also accepts cats.
Although Olie is a really fun-loving little girl, she also appreciates moments of calm, especially when she is confronted with strangers at home or when she is surrounded by many people. The little dog lived in isolation for the first years of her life, and she can be uncomfortable around strangers. On the other hand, when it comes to her people, she seeks a close relationship.
If you have a garden for her to relax in the sun, you are there every day and you want to spoil an adorable dog who will quickly become your shadow, Olie is the ideal candidate! She wants to be able to share her everyday life with all types of animals, but she doesn’t need them either and can be the only animal in the household.
Supported by the association “Au petit Bonheur de nos Forgolés”, she is in a foster family in Var (83) and can be adopted throughout the PACA region. If you want more information about Olie, you will find all the association’s contact details on their Facebook page.
