Several deputies defend an increase in the maximum face value of the restaurant title. But Bercy pleads rather in favor of raising the daily payment ceiling.
Increase in the ceiling or increase in the face value of the ticket? While the text on purchasing power and the amending finance bill have entered the National Assembly, the deputies are preparing to discuss restaurant vouchers.
As explained The Parisian, several elected officials have tabled amendments aimed at increasing the face value of the restaurant voucher. This would thus go from 11.38 euros to a maximum of 15 euros from 1 September. The employer, him, would see the part desfiscalisable to pass from 5,69 euros to 7,50 euros.
Another amendment of the LR group recommends for its part to raise the support by the employer to 70% maximum instead of 60% currently, in addition to an increase in the maximum value of the title to 15 euros.
Issuers plead for a rise in the value of the security
Only here, Bercy is not really favorable to an increase in the maximum value of the ticket. According to one of his relatives quoted by The ParisianBruno Le Maire could on the other hand propose an increase in the daily payment ceiling from 19 to 25 euros.
For their part, restaurant voucher issuers who charge large commissions rather defend an increase in the face value of the ticket. According to the boss of Edenred France, this measure “would represent a tax shortfall of 200 million euros for the State but (…) VAT and Urssaf revenues would amount to 350 million euros”.
To support restaurateurs during the health crisis, the daily ceiling for restaurant vouchers had already been raised to 38 euros, before dropping to 19 euros on July 1.
