The Ritz of dogs and cats exists. Although not located on Place Vendôme, the palace is located in the Les Sables de Sary industrial zone, Saran. Less glamorous, perhaps, but more practical for the furballs to snort at their ease, entrusted by their masters to the good care ofAngelique Grangan and his team.
The animal friend created the Dog Hotel Resort in October 2014, a high-end pet resort. “At the time, everyone took me for a nice lit“, she recalls. full until mid-September 2022. And has not been empty, already, since January. “We have an occupancy rate of 80%”, specifies its manager.
Twelve rooms for dogs and eight for cats
The 600 square meter building has, on the ground floor, twelve rooms intended for dogs, measuring from 10 to 25 square meters, air-conditioned or heated depending on the season, and soundproofed so that neighbors do not get in each other’s way. . As an option, customers can request a webcam in order to visualize their four-legged companions whenever they wish, or a television.
“Some animals need a sound presence. When they are used to noise, silence can be anxiety-provoking. We show films like Scooby Doo Where Babeso that they hear sounds related to the animal world.”
Their owners only have to bring the bowls, food and other things they deem necessary.
Canids also benefit froma game room indoors as well asa park of 3,200 square meters and D’a large swimming pool, filled with 80 centimeters of water. “We take them out every four hours minimum, specifies Angelique Grangan. Right now they’re out from 7 a.m. to noon and then from 4 p.m..”

How to protect your pet from high heat? Advice from a Loiret veterinarian
“Not everyone can afford this luxury”
And if animals get along like dog and cat? “We no longer welcome only social animals. We carry out a test for one day. If all goes well, the reservation is validated”, indicates the head of the company.
Some boarders do not mix with the group, like this old cocker spaniel, who his friends jostle, or this “harassing dog, who makes the females uncomfortable. We call him Jean-Claude Dus because he always tries to conclude!“, she smiles.

The Dog Hotel Resort has a grooming salon, a hydrotherapy pool. Fitness prescribed by a veterinarian. The company also offers a transport service and dog training courses. “Everything is usable individually.”
Upstairs is feline paradise, i.e. eight rooms equipped with sofas, cat trees and relaxation furniture. Again, the masters bring the material they want. The tomcats remain locked up there throughout their stay, since“they are very clever when it comes to evasion”.

To access such a palace, customers – Loiretans and people living in the Paris region, for the most part – must pay the price: 30 euros per night for dogs during school holidays (28 euros excluding holidays) and 22 euros for catsduring the whole year.
Rates that do not hinder the Saranais Philippe Foussadier. Since the opening of the Dog Hotel Resort, he and his wife have been bringing their cat there. Those who discovered the place by chance, on the Internet, can no longer do without it.
“When Minette is back home, she makes us pay for the separation for a few hours, meowing. But she always comes back in great shape. We can see that she has been cuddled, well cared for.”
Philippe Foussadier believes that “Angélique Grangan was able to find a niche which, unfortunately, does not exist elsewhere. Yet there is demand. On our side, we book a month in advance or even more.”
Several weeks beforehand… This Orléanais also proceeded in this way, after having suffered two refusals for lack of anticipation. “Request for up-to-date vaccines; visit of the hotel, which is clean, pretty, bright… Everything is done to put pet owners at ease“, he assures.
Projects in Bordeaux and Deauville
Nevertheless, his dog will not return to the Saranese Ritz. “The days went well, but she couldn’t bear to be alone at night. She scratched at the door,” he says, before adding:
“The employees were frank and so much the better. They explained to us that the well-being of the animal is the most important thing. We feel thatthey do not seek to make numbers.“
As for the price of the stay, he admits that it is high: “It is to be taken into account in your holiday budget. It is obvious that not everyone can afford this luxury.”
If the company, where five employees work, has been battered by the health crisis, it is recovering. “We are back to the rhythm of 2019, with a turnover that will exceed 230,000 euros“, says the animal lover.
In fact, the project she had put on hold, that ofopen new establishments, in Bordeaux (Gironde) and Deauville (Calvados), returns to the front of the stage. On the other hand, Angélique Grangan does not plan to enlarge the Loiret palace: “The idea is not to receive fifty dogs and cats at the same time. I want that the Dog Hotel Resort keeps a family sideaccessible and human.” Human? A way of speaking, of course.
