At the end of June 2022, authorities received a report of stray cats, dogs and a ferret in a home. As of July 25, the 193 animals have all been placed in shelters thanks to the dedication of the population.
Residents of the city of Winstedin the State of Connecticut to United Statesfiled a complaint against the inconvenience caused by stray animals in a house located on avenue Moore.
The control agents therefore intervened and discovered no less than 2 dogs, a ferret and 189 cats.
The doggies and the mustelid were taken directly to the shelter.
The mayor of the town, Josh Kelly, temporarily made the school stadium available to rescuers batcheller and condemned the dwelling. The felines, given their number, were hastily transferred inside the gymnasium.
A surge of solidarity
Various associations came to lend a hand and lent adapted cages. Residents of the village donated food, cat accessories and money.
At the same time, veterinarians examined the tomcats and provided them with care, mostly aimed at ridding them of parasites.
“It took just over a month for staff, volunteers, our veterinary partners and the community to respond to the situation and get the animals the help they so badly needed”said Josh Kelly at NBC Connecticut.

The 189 cats are now entrusted to 11 local shelters, already overloaded in this summer period. After being sterilized, vaccinated and identified, they are now available for adoption.
They are therefore looking forward to being able to start their new life surrounded by love and tenderness in warm homes. This (very) large-scale rescue will go down in history.
