It is an establishment appreciated by Toulouse residents who will be making a comeback in the Pink City.
Thursday 1er September 2022, Cafe Baggio will be resurrected on the rue de Bayard side (instead of Balthazar) with a wine bar and club concept reserved for over 30s. At the end of April 2022, the institution had closed its doors on the boulevard du Maréchal Leclerc side to make way for a new address on Rosa Negra, allée de Barcelone.
Back in favor, four months later
At the origin of this return to grace of the Baggio coffee, we find its historical boss, Julien Roumagnac. “A lot of people continued to talk to me about the brand and there was a strong demand from this clientele over 30,” says the Toulousain.
Wine bar, afterwork and club
If the Baggio café of the time was focused on its brasserie side, the new address in the city center will be more focused on the side wine bars, cocktail bar and afterwork, with a fairly simplified snack menu (oysters, sushi, homemade verrines, carpaccios, homemade gazpacho, buratina, Spanish charcuterie, etc.) and wines from the South-West, Languedoc and some Côtes du Rhône.
House, 80s…
The new Baggio will have two levels: a ground floor with high tables and a counter, and a lower part with low tables and another counter. But as in the old days, we can eat… and above all dance!
“Every Friday and Saturday, the place will go into club mode until 6 a.m. The musical atmosphere will be house, deep-house and remixes of 80s hits. There will be regular DJ sets “.
Baggio’s resident DJ, Geoffroy Laventure, will be back for this second life of the establishment.
An inauguration scheduled for mid-September
Note that the official inauguration of the wine bar-club will take place around September 15, 2022.
Opening hours: Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
