President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order to reduce the Department of Education in the White House on Thursday, said several sources of ABC News.
The president’s order will lead Education Secretary Linda McMahon to take all the necessary steps allowed under the law to dissolve the Ministry of Education, according to the sources.
The move has been in creation months and will help the president fulfill his campaign promise to return to educational power and decisions to the states.
The department took the first steps to break down and shut down last week when it dismissed almost half of its employees, and it shrunk significantly in size through a massive reduction in force, deferred the resignation and retirement outcomes, according to the department.

Trump is also expected to continue the reforms – promised to delete more staff from the agency and the gut.
