The transfer window sometimes holds surprises. This summer several transfers surprised us. Sébastien Haller has actually joined Leganés. Adrien Rabiot moved to Olympique de Marseille, while Maxime Lopez moved to Paris FC. But the biggest surprise in this summer’s transfer market is undoubtedly the signing of Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray. Without offending the Turkish club, who are very powerful, many imagined the Napoli striker would join a team of a higher caliber. Especially since the door was clearly open on the Partenopei side.
Antonio Conte arrived on the Neapolitan bench this summer and recruited Romelu Lukaku. An element with which he has already collaborated on several occasions and which he appreciates. The Belgian therefore pushed Osimhen a little more towards the exit, despite his numerous goals scored in the Napoli shirt (76 goals in 132 games, editor’s note). Quickly, the name of the former LOSC player was mentioned by Paris Saint-Germain to replace Kylian Mbappé. But Luis Enrique would not have given his consent regarding this matter. Chelsea, on the other hand, was more seduced by him.

But the residents of Stamford Bridge have also delivered. Result: Osimhen found himself on the floor at the end of the transfer window. Sidelined by Napoli, the striker from Nigeria ended up finding a way out in Türkiye on 4 September. “An agreement has been reached with the professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSCN Napoli SPA for the temporary free transfer of the player. The footballer will receive a net season salary of 6,000,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season. It is announced to the public with respect.” In addition, Napoli have completed an extension to his contract until 2027, since his original lease ended in 2025.
Subsequently, we learned that Victor Osimhen (2 goals and 3 assists in 4 games this season) benefits from a January break clause that would guarantee Galatasaray receive €6 million in exchange for leaving this winter. And not one club has escaped. THE Corriere dello Sport reveals that Chelsea is still there. The Blues actually intend to try it in January. Galatasaray, for their part, would also like to recruit him permanently this winter. The Turks should drop €75 million in Napoli and convince the player who seems to like Istanbul. Chelsea should put a bit more as they had to pay €75 million to the Neapolitans and €6 million to Galatasaray. Unless Aurélio De Laurentiis decides to ask for more than €100 million, as he has already done in the past…
