UNITED STATES. A singer throws himself into the audience and breaks the neck of a 24-year-old spectator

A serious accident occurred during a concert by the Australian band Trophy Eyes in Buffalo, New York (USA), on April 30, 2024. John Floreani, the group’s singer, dived into the crowd and landed violently on a spectator. The group also shared an online fundraiser to help the victim fund his lengthy rehabilitation, donating $5,000 (almost €4,600). The musicians indicated that they were staying “in close contact” with the young woman and her family.

Diving prohibited

This incident happens while the venue where the concert took place, Mohawk Place, strictly prohibits artists from diving into the crowd. Its director, Mike Thor, told Metro UK that the music group was aware of this rule and that it had been clarified before and during the show, thanks to emails and signs placed throughout the venue.
