Émeline Lecacheur has been a specialized veterinary assistant for 10 years. She recently decided to change course and take on a challenge that was innovative, to say the least. Accompanied and inspired by his Dalmatian Jockiefounded the 29-year-old young woman Jouckie & Ciea recreational center specializing in dog groomingin Saint-Jean-du-Cardonnay, near Rouen (Seine-Maritime).
“I wanted to continue looking after animals, but in a more fun context,” she explains. It has been done since 30 September 2024.
A daycare for your doggies
Émeline welcomes your dogs in this airy center, which she also calls “daycare”. The aim is to “relieve owners in their daily lives” by allowing them to have their animals cared for when they are away. “The owners think it’s a good concept, many ask for this service to get their dog out of the house,” says Émeline.
It is not only a guard, it is also entertainment for dogs
Thanks to this service, your four-legged animals will no longer be forced to be stuck at home when you e.g. is at work. And if the owners can be satisfied with that, so are the dogs who will find some satisfaction and playmates within the Jouckie&Cie structure.
“It also serves to alleviate the loneliness of the animals. I give them the opportunity to socialize and get used to other dogs, especially puppies. The little ones get used to the big ones and vice versa. »
Unlike a classic kennel that accepts dogs for long periods of time, you can entrust your fur animal to Émeline for one day or a half day. No animals sleep on site and the center is closed on weekends.
A 1,500 m² playground
During their stay at Joucky & Cie, your dogs will have something to stretch their legs on. A grass field of 1500m² fence And sure is reserved for them as well as a shelter of 24 m². Agility equipment is also available in the park. Everything is designed to promote the well-being of Emeline’s favorite animal: “I want to meet the mental and physical expenditure needs of dogs. The idea is for them to have fun.”
The land belonging to the owner of the nearby Château de Saint-Jean-du-Cardonnay offers “an ideal setting” according to Émeline. “As much for the dogs as for me,” she rejoices.
It should also be noted that nothing is left to chance at Jouckie & Cie. Before the dog enters the common area, the dog passes one socialization airlock which gives him the opportunity to get to know his new companions. A way to give the animal self-confidence and promote its integration.
Furthermore, Émeline organizes before she accepts a resident advance visit to get to know the animal and its owners. A procedure that aims to avoid any disappointment. “If the dog is aggressive and unsocial, I reserve the right not to accept it,” she clarifies. Category 1 and 2 dogs considered dangerous are also rejected.
After two weeks of activity, Émeline is happy about his debut: “I’m happy about the enthusiasm, I can see that people are interested, it’s great,” she is satisfied. A trend confirmed during our morning visit: Joucki & Cie was indeed preparing to be fully booked as nine dogs were expected from Émeline, the maximum number she is allowed to keep in one day.
For a full day of care, it costs 28 euros. And 17 euros for half a day/
