Twice a couple’s dogs almost succumbed to the cruel actions of a neighbor who resorted to the same process each time: screws hidden in sausages thrown over the fence. The man has acknowledged the facts and must answer for them in court.
A family that lives Thirty, in Bouches-du-Rhône, filed a complaint with the gendarmerie after a neighbor attacked his dogs twice. The individual had given them sausages full of screws, reported France blue.
Described as a 60-something business executive, the man could no longer deny the evidence to the gendarmes and the irrefutable evidence the dog owners had provided to investigators. Accused of a cruel act against a domestic animal, he must appear in court inAix en Provence next December.
The first attempt took place in April 2022. At that time Isabella and her spouse was not at home but on holiday in Brittany. They had asked a couple to look after their home and their dogs, a Braque and a Dachshund who answered to the names of Joy And Jaikou.

The neighbors who took care of the canines had discovered mysterious cocktail sausages in the garden. It did not bode well as the four-legged creatures greedily devoured them. They noticed that the treats contained anchor screws and immediately took the dogs to veterinary emergency. Joy And Jaikou8 years old at the time, had been saved in extremis after undergoing a gastric enema.
New attempt last March
This sinister scenario repeated itself almost a year later, on March 8, 2023. This time, however, a surveillance camera filmed everything. Isabella and her husband suspected a neighbor and decided to have the security system installed after the first incident. The tapes confirmed their suspicions.
It was this man who arrived on a bicycle in front of their house, threw the trapped sausages over the fence before walking away quietly.
New passage through veterinary emergencies for Braque who had an enema and Dachshund who had surgery. Fortunately, they survived it once again. They have even recovered since then.
