Today, in the streets of Villeurbanne, you could hear grunts. And for good reason, the giant dogs of the Royal de Luxe company paraded between the town hall and Place Chanoine-Boursier. A taste of this weekend’s events, and above all a world premiere.

There were hundreds this morning in front of Villeurbanne town hall waiting for the giant dogs of the Royal de Luxe company to wake up. Two canines of 4 meters 40 and 850 kilos, nicknamed El Xolo and Bull Machin strolled through the streets of Villeurbanne.
“It’s great, it’s really wonderful. I’ve been dreaming of seeing them for a long time.” slips a spectator. Slime even drips from the lips of a bull machine… giant dogs that are stunningly realistic.

When we see that, we can’t be anything other than big children.
To animate the parade, technicians and actors, all dressed in blue, parade alongside the two giant dogs. A grandiose and free show to the delight of the hundreds of spectators present. “I’m not sure how it works, but it’s funny. When you see that, you can’t be anything other than big kids. It’s impressive.” marvels a student.

It is within the framework of the Villeurbanne program, French capital of culture, that Royal de Luxe is offering this show as a preview. “This project is important because for once we’re getting out of the saga of the giants, and we’re entering a saga, two dogs, who are going to compete a little, in a frantic race through the city… there’s has a fabulous imagination that makes it popular. This parade was just a taste of what will happen this weekend. The two dogs should parade again tomorrow but the highlight will be Sunday, with a big race between the two mastiffs, which will follow each other… like a car race.
