If you have restaurant tickets, the measures recently voted in favor of purchasing power will change the way you use them from the start of the school year. Currently, employees benefiting from restaurant tickets can use them up to 19 euros per day for their meal.
Now, with the measures of the law on purchasing power voted by Parliament, the daily ceiling has been raised going from 19 euros per day to 25 euros. A change that will be effective from the start of the 2022 school yearin accordance with what the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, had declared to our colleagues at BFM.
“In these difficult times for our compatriots, I want to make life less expensive, so I am ready to increase the ceiling from 19 to 25 euros. It’s a good proposal from LR deputies, socialists and environmentalists, and I take it,” he said.
Extended supermarket terms of use
With the amount of the ceiling raised, the holders of the restaurant tickets will be able to use it to pay a larger part of their bill at the restaurant but not only. They will also be applicable in supermarkets in order to pay for your groceries.
This is already possible but the conditions of use will be extended from the start of the 2022 school year. Currently, if you go to the checkout, only directly consumable food products are “eligible” for payment with meal vouchers. Thus, you cannot buy eggs, butter, fresh cream or even flour.
The new modality will therefore allow wider use because all food shopping will now be payable in tickets or restaurant cards in supermarkets. This measure will be in effect until the end of 2023.
