Impossible to miss. With its beautiful pink paint, the truck Cream brings color to the Toulouse landscape. Ideally located on the Jules Guesde corridors, a stone’s throw from the Jardin des Plantes, it offers artisanal and local ice creams and sorbets, including a pistachio wonder (my favorite flavor).
Italian ice cream
In the middle of timeless chocolate or vanilla (counts 3€/5€/7€ for 1/2/3 scoops), quite rare flavors: kaffir lime leaves, verbena, medlar, violet… And for a dolce vita moment, the presence of an affogato (€4), a scoop of ice cream drowned in an espresso coffee.
Direction Les Carmes with the excellent ice cream bar La Golosa, owned by the Italian delicatessen Casa d’Italia (located right next door, convenient). Here you don’t choose the number of balls, but the size of the pot or cone: small (€ 4.30), medium (€ 5.50) or large (€ 6.50), with as many flavors as you want. Random, Piedmont Hazelnuts, Melon, Cucumber/Basil…
The spoon that can be eaten!
Other quality transalpine glaciers: Gelopronto, rue de la Pomme, between Capitole and Alsace-Lorraine. Frank and gourmet taste (the black forest scent is fabulous), a lot of generosity too (it overflows from the cone!). The house’s little specialty? There box of biscuits which is eaten!
Beautiful places in Saint-Cyprien
If you pass the Saint-Pierre bridge (take advantage of it, it’s all pedestrianized until October), go and treat yourself to one of the best artisans in town, Cocoa Fages, Saint-Cyprien district.
In his new shop Place de l’Estrapade, a touch of touch with its chocolate factory, always the same know-how and intense frozen delights: pistachio/orange blossom for me, but I strongly advise you to taste the amazing carrot-turmeric-ginger sorbet. In the run-up to the summer hit!
And not to stop there, directly opposite, the top smash burger place Supermarket has added the “SUPERBON” (€5.50) to its summer menu: a crispy cookie coated in chocolate and filled with tonka bean ice cream (from neighboring Cacao Fages, of course). And guess what? It’s so good !
