1. Makisu
We need no longer introduce this temple of affordable sushi located in four famous places in Brussels: Bailli, Ma Campagne, Cimetière d’Ixelles and Sainte-Catherine. Here, a classic donburi (salmon and avocado) costs only €12.90, 8 salmon makis cost €6.40 and their funky makis (always 8 pieces) only cost around €7. You can also make sushi of your choice from a list of more than 63 ingredients. A necessity. Good news, the address also exists in Liège.
Or? At Bailli, Ma Campagne, Sainte-Catherine or at the Ixelles cemetery

2. Sushi Shop, Wednesday
Makisu’s more upscale competitor offers much more subtle sushi, but also more expensive. Except Wednesday. The address then offers a rather interesting action. A “Happy Sushi Box” with 42 pieces for only €26.90. You can choose to eat in or take away. Of course, the only limitation is navigating the different flavors on offer. Cucumber maki, boiled tuna-avocado california, spring-fried chicken-avocado, salmon sushi, cheese-avocado maki… In short, a fairly versatile offer of sushi and maki.

When? Every wednesday.

3. Roru
The new address offers makis at a very reasonable price (between €8 and €9 for a set of 8), but it is especially in the evening that the prices become interesting. Handrolls – these sushi rolls – offered at lunchtime are sold at up to 25% off from 16.00 and at half price to avoid unsold items. Now is the time to enjoy sushi at a lower price. We find all the classics: salmon, avocado, shrimp tempura, cucumber and takuwan, tuna and wasabi mayonnaise…

4. Macifornia
Another must in Brussels (but not only). The ultra-famous chain in Belgium offers all kinds of sushi, between Japanese and Californian flavors, at affordable prices. Among the classic California rolls we find sets of 8 pieces around €6-7.
Or? In Karreveld, Mérode, Rue Neuve and Saint-Boniface or even in Vilvoorde.

5. Crossroads
A little less sexy, but terribly effective. Many Carrefours offer “Sushi Daily” in them. in the program? Standing with platters of ultra-fresh sushi because they are prepared on site. The result is surprisingly convincing, as are the prices. Expect €13.90 for a set of 16 salmon sushi or €30 for the 45-piece “maki fun” platter.
