you are not ready to see the end

Since its inception, the Marvel MCU has been a huge success, so much so that ending it seems almost unthinkable. Explanations.

The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) is starting to age, and it started in 2008 with Iron Man anyway. But even after 15 years of good and loyal service, the fashion for superheroes in cinema is not ready to stop. But it’s the head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, who talks about it best.

For Infinity and Beyond for the MCU

As we can learn through the newspaper Variety, Kevin Feige said during The Movie Business Podcast that people have obviously been waiting for the end of the superhero movie for almost 20 years. Will fatigue necessarily set in after so many years?

I have been at Marvel Studios for over 22 years and most of us have been there for a decade or more. How long will this last? Is this craze for comics coming to an end?

The question is also asked directly and explicitly to Kevin Feige about the MCU. The man is also a little annoyed:

I didn’t really understand the question. Because to me it was like saying after Gone with the Wind, ‘Well, how many more movies can be made from novels?’ of books?

You would never ask that question because most people understand that a book can be anything. A novel can contain any type of story. So it all depends on the story you are translating. Non-comic readers don’t understand that it’s the same in comics.

There are 80 years of the most interesting, moving, ground-breaking stories ever told in Marvel comics, and it’s our great privilege to be able to take what we have and adapt it. Another way to do it is to adapt them to different genres and what kind of movies we want to make.

It’s true that Feige’s point is real about the MCU and the adaptations. Many movies now and in the past are based on a novel. Why shouldn’t this be the case with comics? Knowing that, as pointed out in his remarks, it is possible to innovate with many different genres.
