The firefighters were alerted shortly before 5 p.m. this Sunday, October 16. As part of an organized hunting party in the vicinity of Turcey, a dog fell into a “very deep” hole and found himself trapped.
Rescue operations postponed to Monday
Very quickly, a crew of firefighters from Sombernon went on site to carry out a reconnaissance. Unfortunately, due to the depth of the hollow, the imminent arrival of night and the material needs necessary to evacuate the animal, rescue operations will not be able to take place this Sunday evening.
The firefighters and the owner of the animal will meet on the scene Monday morning, at 8 a.m., to try to free the hunting dog.
Note that a similar accident had already occurred in the town last year according to the mayor of the town, Dominique Fevret. At the time, the dog was able to get out ”alone” from the hole after the intervention of a backhoe.
