A grand prix dog race in Villeurbanne!

Animations, music and… a dog race. Here is the program announced by the municipality of Villeurbanne for this colorful weekend.

Behind this project, an artist: Jean-Luc Courcoult, also author and director for the company Royal de Luxe. The latter has carte blanche, as part of the French Capital of Culture label, awarded to Villeurbanne this year.

“The Astier of street arts”

To tell the truth, we don’t know much about this show, just like the town hall, the secret of the festivities being well kept by the artist, until D-Day.

For the mayor of Villeurbanne, Cédric Van Styvendael, the mystery remains: “Jean-Luc Courcoult is the Astier of street arts. I know nothing“.

Nevertheless, Jean-Luc Courcoult has planned to take over the streets of Villeurbanne, including a giant dog race on Cours Emile-Zola and Avenue Roger Salengro on Sunday.

“It is an event in which we expect tens of thousands of people” emphasizes the mayor, who also calls for volunteers to come and participate in the organization of this event.

This show, having cost 2 million euros, partly subsidized by the State, will be presented for the first time in the world here.

A free event, accessible to families. Attention, traffic in the streets of the city will be disrupted during this show.

Bull Machin de Villeurbanne, the dog racing grand prix, from September 23 to 25.
