Admete Karim is a 28-year-old young man from Reunion. Based in Limoges and originally from Saint-Gilles-Les-Bains, he is the son of a restaurant owner. He opened on June 7, a traditional Reunionese restaurant in metropolitan France. The goal is to show the Reunionese know-how.
Reunion know-how.
Reunion also lé kapab!
Karim Amdete, 28, is a young man from Reunion living in Limoges. On June 7, he opened his first restaurant. Son of a restaurateur, he is from Saint-Gilles-Les-Bains.
The young man completed a DUT in business management in Aurillac in 2012 then a CAP in catering in 2015. He has been the manager of Le Coin Réunionnais establishments since 2019.
“This restaurant was born out of a request from customers to have a traditional Reunionese restaurant. We have as many customers from mainland France as customers from Reunion, as much for the loaves as for the curries of the day. Many Reunionese from other regions or departments stop over with us or make the trip especially to discover our establishments, and that touches us enormously”, says Karim.
The young Reunionese works only with products from our island such as sausages or spices: “For a better quality of pei taste.”
Reunion know-how
For Karim, opening this restaurant is a bet but also a desire to show the know-how of Reunion in mainland France and to meet the demand of Reunionese living in France:
“As far as Reunionese products are concerned, there are more and more Reunionese suppliers who are developing little by little and who manage to get us more and more products. We supply ourselves quite easily on most products”, explains the man.
Karim now owns two establishments. In 2019, he also opened a 100% péi snack bar.
