It was downright hysterical that most Western media welcomed the revocation of the constitutional right to abortion in the United States. Let us also remember that this is not directly about questioning abortion, but about giving each State responsibility for the law. This will lead to a ban on abortion, or in any case a strong restriction, in a certain number of “red” American states.

Those in the West who won this right through hard struggle are worried to see it, against all odds, now being denied. Those who refuse a right to abortion triumph by believing they see a reversal. In reality, there is only a change of scale here: in a federal country where laws can be decreed at the small level, minorities have more chance of being heard on a case-by-case basis, whereas in a centralized country they are necessarily…
