They will do everything to find the perpetrator and bring him to justice. This Friday morning, a dog, of the Malinois shepherd type, was discovered dead on rue d’Yerres, in Brunoy (Essonne). The animal was on the sidewalk, partly hidden by garbage bags.
“It was a friend who contacted me, disgusted to see that we had been able to leave a dead animal like this, says Jenny Jen, volunteer with the Brigitte Bardot Foundation. I could not go directly there. I asked her to go back there to take pictures. At that time, she had seen only what looked like a wound. »
It is by approaching more closely that she discovers the horror: the animal has been decapitated. His head has not been found. “There was no blood on the spot. The dog also has no injuries that could suggest that his death was due to a road accident, specifies the volunteer. With the elements together, we believe that the animal was killed elsewhere and dumped here as trash. »
“I’ve never seen this before”
Thierry, a local resident agrees. His wife had seen the body the same morning while driving by, in this very busy and one-way street. “She only saw the garbage bags, she thought of a wild dump, he explains. It was during the day that my daughter informed me that it was a decapitated dog. It’s very shocking. The local resident confirms that he has never heard of a neighborhood problem caused by a dog. “Some people bark, like everywhere. But no one deserves such a fate,” he says.
Bruno Gallier, the mayor (LR) of the town was alerted to the discovery. “We are deeply shocked by this unprecedented violence, comments the elected official. I have never seen this before. We have an organization that collects dead animals. We asked them to do their best to identify the owner of the animal. But nothing indicates, for the moment, that he lived in Brunoy. The person who did this may live elsewhere and may very well have dropped him off. »
A street that may not have been chosen by chance. The road runs along a railway track on one side and the small park of a condominium on the other. “This complicates any neighborhood investigation,” confirms the mayor.
The Brigitte Bardot Foundation intends to file a complaint. After having shown the wound to veterinarians, the association has already requested that an autopsy be carried out, specifies Jenny Jen who launched a call for witnesses on her Facebook account (Jenny Jen PA). More than a hundred people have already reacted to express their indignation. And to demand a condemnation worthy of “this barbarism”.
“We cannot remain insensitive to this kind of thing. We hope to gather as much information as possible, concludes Jenny Jen. It is the first time that I am confronted with such horror. It is very important to me to find the person who did this to him. Especially since we can ask ourselves questions: today, it’s on a dog but tomorrow? »
