Johnny Depp described as “a monster” by Amber Heard’s lawyers

Since Monday, the trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard began in Fairfax County, Virginia.

The defamation lawsuit, pitting Johnny Depp against Amber Heard, began Monday in Fairfax County, Virginia. The two former spouses, who accuse each other, attend this trial which should last about six weeks. Other personalities such as Elon Musk, James Franco, Ellen Barkin or Paul Bettany will also testify at the bar.

Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife for $50 million after the publication of an article in the “Washington Post” in which she accused him, without naming him, of domestic violence. Amber Heard’s lawyers described to the American court the hell that the 35-year-old actress would have gone through. Episodes of “anger” that ended in “verbal, physical and sexual assault”. For them, it is clear that drugs and alcohol have turned the 58-year-old actor into “a monster”.

“The Monster Has Appeared”

According to his lawyer Elaine Bredehoft, Amber Heard liked “the side of Johnny that we see in the movies”. “Charismatic, charming, generous, this is the man she fell in love with,” she said. “But unfortunately the monster appeared and this monster appeared when he was drinking or taking drugs,” she added. For his part, Me Bredehoft speaks of an “enormous anger” which transformed him into a “demon”. Amber Heard also recounted several violent episodes, including the one in March 2015, when Johnny Depp was filming the fifth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean” in Australia.

The defense of his ex-wife intends to show the jury “shocking photos” including “bruises, split lips, torn hair”. These images are intended to show the “real Johnny Depp” beyond “red carpets, notoriety and the money of pirate costumes”, said the actress’ other lawyer, Ben Rottenborn.
