This Tuesday, May 3, Amber Heard’s lawyers tried to have the trial canceled.
Since April 11, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been facing off in court in a defamation lawsuit. Evidence is piling up on both sides through various testimonies, key recordings and chilling revelations. Johnny Depp was notably called to the bar for a week in order to assert his version of the facts. For her part, Amber Heard should also testify soon before the Court.

However, the latter’s lawyers have in the meantime filed a motion to have the trial annulled. A request which was rejected by the judge, Penney Azcarate, this Tuesday, May 3. Indeed, the lawyers of the star of “Aquaman” wanted the trial to end since they believe that Johnny Depp has provided no evidence of defamation: “The court should accept this motion to quash because of the indisputable evidence that it was he, in fact, who assaulted Amber, “said Ben Rottenborn, Amber Heard’s lawyer. The judge, however, decided to continue the trial since she says there are enough elements to leave the seven jurors the power to decide the outcome of the complaint.
Amber Heard in turmoil
This request from Amber Heard’s lawyers comes after several pieces of information revealed against her definitely do not play in her favor. Indeed, last week, a psychologist revealed that the actress suffered from personality disorders and a video confirming her infidelity to Johnny Depp during their marriage was also released during a day of hearing. In addition, Elon Musk and James Franco have given up testifying in his favor.
