The charming village, wedged between the ramparts of Montreuil-sur-Mer and a marsh area, has 170 inhabitants on 250 hectares, and it has hardly moved for a century and a half. Its annual operating budget amounts to 85,000 euros. Local curiosity: there is neither church nor cemetery here –“one never dies at La Madelaine”, jokes the aedile. But three restaurants, one of which is significantly more renowned than the other two: La Grenouillère by Alexandre Gauthier, two Michelin stars, 19/20 at Gault & Millau.
La Grenouillère boosts the notoriety of the village, it is a real chance for the territory, the engine of a certain tourism
