Committed to the RN, left-wing think tanks make their expertise and work available to the New People’s Front to create the ecological and social transition.
This article is a column, written by a writer outside the newspaper, whose point of view does not bind the editors.
We, left-wing think tanks, support the New People’s Front in light of the parliamentary elections to be held on 30 June and 7 July. Beyond our intellectual and political diversity, we share the same belief in the capacity for public action to address the social and climate emergency. We fiercely oppose the prospect of a National Rally government and want a total break with the current politics.
Bolstered by the hundreds of citizens, researchers, officials, experts, trade unionists and activists who have for years thought, imagined and worked on the future of our country, we bring our energy and our contribution to the New People’s Front. After seven years of liberal-conservative power, which leaves our country in a disastrous economic, social and moral state, we oppose the prospect of a victory for the extreme right!
An amateur assessment
The speeches of the National Rally, and even more the positions defended by its representatives in the National Assembly or the European Parliament, clearly illustrate its projects: dismantling of public services, accelerated liberalization, suppression of environmental standards, decline in rights and freedoms, crushing democratic , but also questions the equality of citizens according to their gender, their origin or their religion. The result of such a program is simple: the breakdown of the social body, economic bankruptcy, and the precipitous destruction of our environment.

As for the president’s right-wing bloc, it is already largely committed to this agenda of social, economic and democratic destruction. He has also demonstrated his incompetence in the management of our country, leaving public services in crisis and economies drained. Long presented as the voice of reason and good leadership, the ministers who have replaced each other over the past seven years actually have an amateur record. France is thus accumulating budget deficits (a further 144 billion euros in 2024), without this having served the ecological and social transformation of our country. On the one hand, the government massively subsidizes the profits of large companies without any appreciable effect on our economy, and on the other hand, it is unable to seriously invest in the country’s future or support citizens in very precarious situations.
The new People’s Front is ready to rule
A few days before the election, we are faced with two options. Either the New People’s Front is defeated and we stand ready to fight the National Rally at the level of ideas, to counter the misleading and lying arguments that support its ideology. Either way, the New People’s Front wins on July 7, and we stand ready to support its future government in implementing its ecological, social and economic priorities.
Over the past few years, we have published hundreds of works, even based on academic research and public policy experiences carried out locally or abroad. Each in our fields and with our political nuances, we have detailed and operationalized the implementation of left-wing public policies on education, environmental protection, public finance, industry, research, biodiversity, sports, justice, public services, gender equality and even health. We also make this corpus available to a future People’s Front government. One thing is certain, the expertise is on the side of the new People’s Front, and we are ready to rule with it.
