Since April 2022, the hotel-restaurant The Clos Normandat Martin-Eglise (Seine-Maritime), changed from owner.
It is now Sophie Bedu who is at the head of the establishment.
After a career as international sales manager for various companies, which took her around the world, the young woman decided to make a professional retraining to live her childhood dream.
12 rooms and a gourmet restaurant
She explains her choice: “I have been passionate about cooking since my childhood, my parents live in Martin-Eglise and I spent my youth there before traveling the world for my job. So I decided to put my suitcases in France. So when I learned that the establishment was for sale, I did not miss the bargain. »
Thus, by taking over this charming establishment, Sophie Bedu rediscovers her Martinese roots and can practice her passion for cooking.
At the head of a gourmet restaurant and a 12-room hotel, she has plenty to do to pamper her customers.
Loyal customers
“I have a loyal clientele, who are used to and who know Le Clos Normand well. I am happy to have their confidence renewed,” she said.
For this, she can count on the eight employees who make up her brigade.
“When I acquired the establishment, I wanted to take over all the staff and keep the same operation” emphasizes the new owner. She also hired a pastry chef to help her.
After having had a life as an expatriate in Singapore and in Southeast Asia, Sophie Bedu finds her Norman roots in an establishment with a green setting and she promises to perpetuate this magnificent heritage.
