Ornézan: ACO Canaries ready to go electric

At its last general assembly, the Amicale Cycliste ornézanaise (ACO) announced the imminent arrival of a VAE section: electrically assisted bicycle.

On Friday, November 18, the General Assembly of the Amicale Cycliste ornézanaise (ACO) was held in the Jeanne-d’Ornézan room in the presence of Lionel Saint-Martin, President of Codep 32, André Saint-Martin, Vice-President. , Françoise Saint-Martin, secretary, and about forty participants. Before the meeting took place, the president of the ACO, Jean-Pierre Boué, held a minute’s silence to pay tribute to Paul Toulouse, a member of the club, in love with “the little queen”, who was champion in the 60s.

After this memorial service, the leaders of the ACO returned to the activities of the various sections of the club. The cyclists thus undertook more than 25 outings during the season, including 6 events outside the department with an increase of 14 passes. The General Assembly was also an opportunity to return to the stay in Spain, in the Sierra Nevada. As for mountain biking, the section takes part in particular in the Roc d’Azur. Finally, the walking section was very active in all terrain and especially during the Tour de France on 22 July.

Then all the section leaders presented their report in turn. Likewise, in the news section, a VAE (electrically assisted bicycle) section will be “connected” very soon. Finally, after a few words about the 2023 program, with in particular the Maxi Verte VTT in Samatan and the Petits Chênes hike that will take place in Ornézan (MTB, road and walking), this very pleasant evening ended with an excellent dinner aperitif composed by the new licensee and restaurateur of Seissan, Philippe Dubacq.
