Two women were driving down a road in Bali when one of them spotted a female dog crouching in a small kennel in front an empty villa. They immediately stopped to examine the dog and realized how badly she was once they approached.
She looked malnourished and was missing most of her hair due to scabies, which made her skin very scaly and sore. The two women gave him food and water and they had to be very careful not to panic.
They spent the next hour gaining his trust before they could catch him. To their surprise, the pup was very calm once they picked it up. It was as if she knew she was finally safe and that these women were there to help her.
The body of this poor dog was decomposed while waiting for help…
She was taken to the vet, where she was confirmed to have mange and also an eye infection, which luckily was easily treated. After that, the two women took her home to care for her while she healed in a comfortable environment.
They decided to name this adorable little dog Lucy. Lucy’s life before today is a mystery, but one thing is certain: the days and years that follow will finally be everything she deserves and more.
During her recovery, she experienced many “firsts”, including visiting the beach and walking on the grass. Lucy came out of her shell and became very friendly and affectionate. She loves cuddles and enjoys playing with other dogs. A month later, Lucy finally found a forever home with a loving couple named Matt and Brianna from Washington DC.
“I think given everything she’s been through, the fact that she’s so sweet and loving and trusts us is just miraculous.”, Brianna told The Dodo.
