In Hollywood, the German fitness group RGS, head of the John Reed clubs and new owner of the famous Gold’s Gym – the one where Arnold Schwarzenegger practiced – has just inaugurated a new concept of ultra-select “social gym club”. Behind the golden door, Heimat invites himself into the five floors of a former garage and place of clandestine parties. Inside, exercise rooms arranged like art galleries, stuffed with sculptures and shiny columns, with parquet floors in marquetry patterns, where jeweled dumbbells, state-of-the-art machines and gold-embossed weight benches make the effort surprisingly easier. In addition to the classes dedicated to Kinesis, ideal for golf players, others devoted to Pilates, a spa and a manicure salon, Heimat has its swimming pool in the sun, a series of deckchairs where to put laptops and sun creams, a large lounge of co-working and even a library.

The 6th Street Bridge, emblematic bridge of the cinema
In Los Angeles, the opening of the 6th Street Bridge, a one-kilometre-long bridge linking the Boyle Heights neighborhood to the Arts District, was the event of early July. Meteora, the new restaurant by chef Jordan Kahn
Honored by the Angelenos With his gastro-fantasy restaurant-tour “Vespertine”, his stronghold in the Culver City district, chef Jordan Kahn returns to shake up our kitchen landmarks with “Meteora”. And it starts at the entrance, transformed into a giant stork’s nest, continues in the stellar waiting room with its bewitching atmosphere before discovering the restaurant, an enchanted and subdued cave overgrown with vegetation, where lamps float in the air. catches dreams and Mexican decorations. Bar Clara at the Hotel Per La, rooftop at the top
The ephemeral Nomad Hotel (open from 2018 to 2020), former Bank of Italy, in the Downtown LA district has just found a replacement with the arrival of the Sage Hospitality Group, based in Denver, and a new name: Per La. If the official opening of the premises is scheduled for September, the new tenant has just opened the reservation of some of the rooms (241 in total), all kept in the decorations signed Jacques Garcia four years earlier. Freshly inaugurated, the Bar Clara located on the rooftop, offers frescoes like Matisse on the façade, those imagined by the local artist, Jessaline Brooks, opens its outdoor lounges and an Italian-style swimming pool, with the figurehead, the mask of Orcus, a reference to the Garden of Monsters in Bomarzo, Italy. Swimming is open to the public from 5 p.m.
