the striking workers at the Feyzin refinery ready to reject the requisitions

The strikers are particularly calling for the employment of four temporary workers on permanent contracts.

They have been on strike since September 27. The employees in the shipping department at the Feyzin refinery, south of Lyon (Rhône), are still mobilized.

“They are more and more united and they will naturally move towards achieving their demands or parts of their demands”, says Pedro Afonso, CGT TotalEnergies Feyzin union representative, at BFM Lyon.

If the salary increase was initially the first demand from the employees at the refinery, this is no longer the case today. The strikers are particularly calling for the employment of four temporary workers on permanent contracts.

“Deny these requisitions”

CGT refinery on strike Feyzin’s total energies demanded at the end of October the intervention of a “mediator of the republic” for a “real negotiation” with the management. In the meantime, fourteen employees were requisitioned at the site on Monday. A requisition that the strikers could oppose in the coming days.

“The strikers arrive even today, so dishonest and irresponsible opposition, to go towards civil disobedience and go to tomorrow, the day after tomorrow or in the next few days to refuse these requisitions”, continues Pedro Afonso.

CGT TotalEnergies Feyzin’s union representative is waiting to see “what measures the prefect will take against the strikers who refuse to accept these requisitions because they are unjustified and illogical”.
