Two young women want to create the first dog café in Toulouse this fall, Canithé. They launched a kitty to complete the financing of their project.

“Our dream was to go to work with our dogs, but that was not compatible with our jobs”. This shared desire was the starting point for the Le Canithé café project. Pauline Filhol, who has been living in Toulouse for two years with Chewie, her Border Collie, met Claire Plégat and her Beagle Oia during a walk. “It was love at first sight, whether for the dogs or for us,” they say.
With mainly organic and local products, it will be possible to eat lunch or taste pastries for the rest of the day, in the company of six dogs. Thus, playing with them, caressing them or contemplating them will be the key words of this unique place.

The café will be closed to the public on certain afternoons to host dog workshops. Accessible on registration, for dog owners and their companions, they will be led by an educator. Outside the workshop, it will not be possible to come with your animal.
A shop, dedicated to man’s best friend, will also be present in the café. “We wanted to support small brands, committed whether for necklaces, croquettes or even hygiene products” explain the two young women.
“We also want to create a new adoption model.” Indeed, among the six dogs, two will initially be up for adoption.
Supported by the Region and the Toulouse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pauline and Claire are launching a crowdfunding campaign at the end of June to carry out this project. It will be accessible via the Instagram and Facebook account of Le Canithé café.
