It’s a little novelty for the new school year in Toulouse. Opened a few weeks ago close to the Capitolthe new street-food concept SHOUK truly launches its adventure around a original idea and particularly greedy. An address to remember for lovers of charcuterie and elaborate sandwiches. We tested for you and it’s validated!
In the city center
Located at 5 rue du Sale, between rue d’Alsace-Lorraine and place Victor Hugo, the restaurant stands out for the possibility of making your own sandwich. Ideal for the greediest among you. “It’s a fairly new offer in Toulouse,” welcomes manager Arnaud Amselem.
“We attach great importance to the quality of our products, this is what allows us to offer original sandwiches that have already been appreciated by customers who have given us good feedback”, adds the friendly manager.
Sandwiches à la carte or to compose
Although there are a few “signature” recipes, the concept of SHOUK essentially lies in making your own sandwich.
We start with the bread (plain, sesame, olives, onions, cereals, halla), then up to 3 deli meats (smoked turkey, veal pickles, pastrami, rosette, beef salami, bacon, turkey with honey…) and 3 toppings (onion jam, Israeli salad, grilled peppers, guacamole, fried eggplant, avocado slices…). It is possible to add two homemade sauces, the preparation of which is prepared in front of customers in a food-truck style. “The sandwiches are tasty, hearty and colorful,” says the manager of the establishment.
“We wanted to develop a concept that does not exist in Toulouse. Our goal is to introduce new flavors using fresh and original products from short circuits. »
With Mediterranean sauce
To accompany this Mediterranean influence, SHOUK offers three equally delicious salads: the bulgur tabbouleh (bulgur, tomatoes, diced peppers, shallots, pomegranates…), the Fatouch salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, red peppers, red onions, mint…) and the Sabbach salad (fried eggplant, tomatoes, cucumber, red cabbage, hard-boiled egg, tahini onions…). If successful, other points of sale could see the light of day in a few months.
Arnaud Amselem and his whole team await you from Monday to Thursday, noon and evening, Friday and Sunday noon. It is possible to eat on the spot, to take away, in delivery as well as in click and collect. SHOUK, 5 rue du Salé in Toulouse.
