The French are ready to work more to increase their remuneration. This is revealed by the first edition of the Andjaro barometer, carried out with Odoxa last October with a panel of 1,004 French people, half of whom work. Focus on the outline of the study.

75% of the French are ready to work more to earn more and 84% of employees are ready to replace colleagues or work in other teams in exchange for benefits and higher pay!

Overall, it should be noted that 76% of workers are satisfied with their work, a share that has risen sharply since Covid, with an increase of 4 points since November 2018. 78% of workers consider their job interesting and 65% even believe it brings them “personal fulfillment”.

A sense of concern in the current economic context

On the other hand, more than one in five working people do not consider their job to be stable, interesting or reassuring. Many state that they experience major professional limitations. If these seem manageable one by one, the accumulation of restrictions is more difficult for the 31% of workers who have to work both weekends and nights, or in a shared way. Worse, more than one in four workers (27%) believe their jobs are “unsafe”. Thus, 48% feel more worried about their job than 6 months ago.

In this context, CDI is the most popular type of employment contract for two-thirds of workers. Nevertheless, almost every other working person would be ready to accept a fixed-term or temporary job if they were looking for a new position and if it were the only type of contract they were offered. The French are thus today much more open to short contracts than before in case of necessity.

More flexible employees and new expectations

Contrary to popular belief, two-thirds of French respondents associate the word “flexibility” with something positive. Both public and private, they believe that the last-minute absence of an employee at a company constitutes an important or even very important problem.

To circumvent this pitfall, the fact of having applications that allow companies to find an employee in the event of last-minute absence is a solution considered useful by 86% of French respondents.
