Full house for “Vkusno i tochka”, the replacement for McDonald’s in Russia

According to his boss, no less than 120,000 hamburgers were sold on the first day of reopening of 50 restaurants. Never seen.

Patriotic momentum or real enthusiasm, the fact remains that the replacement for McDonald’s in Russia is a success.

For its first day of activity, “Vkusno i tochka” (“Delicious, full stop” in French), no less than “120,000 hamburgers” were sold. “We have never seen such a daily turnover since McDonald’s has been working in Russia” welcomes Oleg Paroïev, general manager of the new fast-food chain, to Reuters.

50 former “McDos” in Moscow and its surroundings therefore reopened on June 12 and 13 after three months of closure following the departure of the American giant in reaction to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

700 restaurants acquired

On the strength of this success, Alexander Govor, owner of the brand, intends to open 1000 restaurants within 4 to 5 years and therefore exceed the initial park of McDonald’s in Russia (850 restaurants). Also according to Reuters, Alexander Govor, who already ran 25 restaurants, bought around 700.

However, this dynamic could come up against some difficulties such as the absence of flagship products such as Coca-Cola…
